First, let me say, we love the name "Stewie." I was told that Mirah names all the rescued animals and this was a great name choice, and it fits this little guy's personality. We saw him at a Petsmart adoption fair in Gaithersburg in December. His foster mom said he did not like crates (our dogs have always slept in their crates), so we decided against him at the time. Something told me to go the adoption fair on New Years Day at the Petsmart in Falls Church (I had been working with Sue to pre-qualify...she is great!) and there he was again....Stewie! I asked if anyone knew how he is with cats (we have 2 male indoor cats). So a volunteer (who was keeping Stewie while his foster Mom was out of town) agreed to bring him over to test him out later that day. We tested him with "Luther," our most intimidating cat, and Stewie immediately knew his place. So we adopted him right then. To make a long story short, Stewie and Luther are best buddies (see attached). Not a day goes by when they're not chasing one another or sleeping next to each other (with my husband and I, along with our 15-year old female dachshund that no longer wants to sleep in her crate) in our king size bed.
Thank you, Lucky Dog, for bringing this wonderful boy into our lives (we recently lost our 13-year old male dachshund). Stewie keeps us laughing. He is a hoot and we love him so much!
