Poor little Dexter has had a rough start to his holiday season!
This sweet, gentle little shih tzu mix escaped a rural shelter and was brought to DC to find his forever home. Unfortunately he was attacked by another dog shortly after his arrival and landed in a hospital with a broken jaw - one that required a very expensive surgery to repair.
Fortunately for Dexter, Lucky Dog Rescue made sure he received the care he needed to repair his jaw and he is expected to make a full recovery. YAY!

Dexter is now resting and being nursed back to health in his foster home. His jaw is wired shut, but he is back to being his happy little self and looking for a loving lap to crawl into.
