Thank you so much for giving me Whiskey. What an amazing dog! My daughter introduced me to Lucky Dog, and I was immediately in agreement with their philosophy of “pets first“. I came to the DC area to meet some dogs, and I found Whiskey. He adopted me- I didn’t adopt him. He just folded into my arms and that was that.
Since coming home, Whiskey has become the newest (and most popular) family member. He’s a quick study. We spend all day together taking long walks and playing ball. He loves running with my son, and sleeps at the foot of my bed every night. I can’t wait to take him to the beach where his doggie-nephew, Buster, will show him the ropes of the Jersey shore– he’ll learn to run in the surf in no time!
Working with Lucky Dog has been just wonderful! I inquired a few times about fostering and adopting in my area and the results were, at best, disappointing. I called and emailed and called and emailed with limited response. Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. No one wanted to discuss my concerns about fencing my yard beyond promising to call and meaningless emails. At Lucky Dog I wasn’t put off and I wasn’t given any special consideration; the pet came first. Upon meeting Lucky Dog volunteers, I was impressed! I asked pointed questions and gave pointed replies and I think the Lucky Dog volunteer did her homework.
Thank you so much for helping Whiskey find me. And no, you can’t have him back!
