Success Story - Bucky (fka Buddy)!

Buddy, came back to Lucky Dog after being adopted out because he tore his cruciate ligament (human equivalent: ACL) when he slipped on ice.  This is when we found him, broken or not, and we had to have him.  Due to his severe under bite, we found it fitting to rename him Bucky because of his buck teeth (or under bite....).  Scheduled for a cruciate repair 1 week after we adopted him, he survived the surgery despite his heart murmur.  Another week went by, and he unfortunately tore his other cruciate ligament.  A few weeks later, he had his second cruciate repair on his other hind leg.

Now that he has bionic back legs, he quickly recovered over the course of approximately 3 months, just in time for summer.  He has proven that surgery cant hold him back and has recently shown us how much he loves to play fetch.  Being told he was a Poodle mix, we decided to have his DNA tested with a Wisdom Panel test.  The results are that he is a true designer dog: 50% purebred Miniature Poodle and 50% purebred Yorkshire Terrier.

Bucky has been an amazing addition to our little family and we quickly fell in love with him.  We feel lucky to have found him and want to thank Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and Sue C. for their help and support in our adoption process.  If anyone adopted Crystal (a white female Maltese) around Dec2015/Jan2016, we would love to reunite them.
