ROCCO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Rocco         Best Guess for Breed:  Lab/Retriever mix

Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of April 2024       SEX:  Male

Approximate Weight:  35 lbs

Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested.

Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area!

Special adoption considerations:    When Rocco arrived in the shelter, he was pretty nervous and scared. However, he has been making great strides. We think Rocco would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure {he/she} can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence.

Rocco is Looking For:  His forever family! This young boy hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet and is eager to have his own humans to explore it with! Long sniffy walks - romps in the park - all the adventures they can dream up - THAT is his ultimate goal. Right now, though, he can be kinda nervous in new environments and needs extra patient and loving adopters who will help show him all those new places at his pace. (He's young too, so definitely wants plenty of activity.) Seeing other dogs around will help as well -they will show him how to dog! Obedience school will help build his braves too.

The shelter says he's such a happy, joyful young boy - he's got that super excited 'I love you!' energy in his body whenever he meets people he knows already. He really wants to have his own humans and know he is safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange he has SO many happy tail wags, adoring gazes, and joyful leaps - and so much loyal companionship - to offer. What do you say? Is Rocco the active companion you see by your side?

What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster
