Volunteer

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a volunteer powered, foster based, non-profit animal rescue. Our greatest asset is the dedication and compassion of our volunteers. Our ability to save lives is directly tied to the number of volunteers we have at any given moment.

If you have a passion for animals, and would like to help save lives, please consider volunteering! There are many ways you can help even if you have limited time or resources!

On Going Volunteers

There are many different ways to volunteer! Lucky Dog is made up of volunteer teams, each of which plays a critical role in saving Lucky Dogs and Cats. Depending on the particular volunteer role, the time commitment can be as little as an hour a month or as much time as you have to give! If you have any questions, please contact us.

Adoption Coordinator

Assist in finding homes for lucky dogs by marketing available dogs for adoption, reviewing applications, contacting landlord /vet offices, conducting phone screens, setting up home visits and completing adoption paperwork.

Event Coordinator

Assist in coordinating foster, dog and volunteer attendance for adoption events that take place on Saturday or Sunday.

Contract Reviewer

Help us review our dog, cat, puppy, and kitten contracts with our soon to be adopters! We are looking for a handful of detail orientated, customer service focused volunteers to walk Lucky Dog adopters through their contract as well as their animal's medical records prior to adopting.

Volunteer Liaison

Ensure that all new volunteers are trained, safe, and enjoying our adoption events.

Adoption Counselor

Assist in pre-approving adopters by reviewing applications, contacting landlord/vet offices, conducting phone screens and setting up home visits. Not required to attend adoption events.

Foster Screener

Assist in approving fosters by reviewing applications, contacting landlord/vet offices, conducting phone screens and setting up home visits. Not required to attend adoption events.

Master Handler

Handling dogs that need a more experienced hand (shy dogs, dogs who are scared of dogs or people, dogs who are reactive on leash, etc.).

Social Media

Assisting to upkeep our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts with relevant and important rescue information. Photoshop experience is a plus, but not required.

Administrative Support

Assisting with the many operational and organizational administrative tasks required to keep Lucky Dog moving smoothly. This may include data entry, paperwork, running errands etc.

Adoption Support Team

Assist our application screening team by calling landlords to obtain their pet policies and/or veterinarians for references of applicant's existing pets.

Lucky Pup Parties

Volunteer or be an Event Lead for our mid-week Lucky Dog pup parties. These events are held weekdays during business hours with 2-4 dogs joining area businesses for 1.5 hours. It's great exposure for our pups and lots of fun.

Volunteer Sign-Up

Volunteer when you can

We have many Lucky Dog volunteers who assist when they can, but are not able to commit to a recurring role. The only commitment for these roles is to receive a weekly email!

Fundraising

Help Lucky Dog with fundraising events, or general fundraising activities.

Handlers

Join us for an adoption event on Saturday or Sunday and help to handle our dogs while they meet prospective adopters.

Drivers

Help to drive dogs from boarding or foster homes to events or vet appointments. It is helpful if drivers can stay and handle that dog while at the event, but not required.
