Last month, as I wrote to you about our work evacuating animals from the path of Hurricane Dorian, we were preparing to drive down to Florence, South Carolina to assist our team as the storm passed through. We did not know what would happen -- only that the animals would need us.
This week has been a crazy week -- and it's only Wednesday! As you may know, we spent Labor day coordinating a last minute transport for nineteen dogs evacuating from the path of Hurricane Dorian. Now, a nineteen dog transport may sound like old hat for Lucky Dog, but consider this:
About 2 months ago, I sent an email about this year's Strut Your Mutt, a crowd funding walk put on by Best Friends Animal Society to facilitate fundraising for organizations like Lucky Dog. Since that time, our team has had incredible success!
Fifty-Five people have signed up to raise mission-critical funds for Lucky Dog's homeless animals, and we're 1/3 of the way to our goal of raising $30,000!
